Texas Republicans have worked overtime to make it harder for key Democratic voting groups to vote and be represented fairly. The redistricting games they've played are infamous. And for the Prairie View A&M University precincts, they put the early-polling place more than seven miles from the school. So what did the students in this video do? They shut down the highway as they marched seven miles to cast their votes on the first day of early voting. I found a article about Atlatl in the most recent copy of Make magazine - one of my favourite reads of the month.

This drawing illustrates it quite well - it is in effect a spear with a throwing mechanism that accelerates it up to speeds of 100 mph (!), and which a number of diverse cultures have used during hunting of large and small game, even for fishing.

When I upgraded to 10.5 I lost one of my key "applications" - Visor. This is the type of application I need even more when I rely on virtual consoles such as Spaces in Leopard. But to my great delight I found a new update of Visor here :

Visor provides a systemwide terminal window accessible via a hotkey, much like the consoles found in games such as Quake.
